Marshal; DON'T DO IT!!! There is no such thing as a generic muffler for the Vanagon. Many years ago I let a shop try it. The "generic" muffler had a slightly wider diameter so they cut and welded on my muffler hangers until they were useless. The piece of crap lasted about a year and a half. The weight of the muffler and cat caused the elbow upstream to fail. You get what you pay for.
