Technical Service Bulletin # 93-11 June 15, 1993 directs that henceforth Vanagons with automatic transmissions use synthetic oil SAE 75W/90 in the final drive. Personally I think that the idea here may be to reduce damage in case a bad seal lets the final drive lube mix with the ATF. BTDT
