If you are planning to travel through Tennessee in the near future be aware that the state welcome centers and rest areas have been closed due to a budget crisis. Also the emergency trucks which normally run on the expressways to help stranded motorists (required Vanagon content) have been idled during the crisis. The legislature has been unable to agree on a budget that addresses the billion plus dollar deficit the state faces, Happy motoring!
