Subject: Westy side tent - Pouch,
              Fritz-Berger ? Want assembly instructions.
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

I finally got a chance to set up the side tent that came with my 85 Westy that I purchased last September. The original owner bought the van and tent in Germany and used both for a couple of months before shipping it home to the US of A. I don't have any instructions but after laying out all the pipes and elbows and some head scratching I figured out how it goes together. It has an internal aluminum pole frame with adjustable legs that get raised after the poles are assembled and the tent is arranged loosely over the frame. I found a few small tears but overall it seems to be in good condition for a 17 year old tent.

It says it's made in Germany with two logos on it. One is a tent shaped "POUCH" logo with a kayaker and the other is a square FRITZ-BERGER logo with an image of a teepee style tent and a pull behind single axle camping trailer with the message 8430 NEUMARKT below the tent and trailer image. Sound familiar to anyone? If anyone has a set of instructions to sell (or a copy) I would greatly appreciate it. I marked the pipes before dis assembling but I have some questions about how to best attach it to the rain rail and staking to the earth properly. Any info about this tent appreciated.

My van is dark brown with an orange accent stripe and the tent is brown and tan with orange, tan, and brown variable width stripes. There is a groovy curtain that hangs inside the front window with a design pattern that's hard to describe with words! Austin Powers would approve! Yeah bay-bee!! Pics available for the curious.

Andrew
