Mr. Marshall, A kicked x member recommended this---and I needed a resonable muffler, for the 3 that I have, and they were all need replacement. I went to Wal mart and spent money, for 3 muffler. Cherry Bomb. I cut off the flat connector at the silencer and welded it to the new cheap silencer. I bolted to to the the catistic converter with the same bolts. OK it makes more sound than the German pipe from the plant, but I am seeing more fuel betterment, and the machine runs much better, I think because no back up of exhaust. The price was ten dollars for each silencer. I like the old porsche noise of power and I know it mean nothing but just much more fuel to the mile and I have done this on 3 of all of my vans.

Good Evening, Fred

Hi Volks: I wonder if any of you have experience using a generic muffler in place of the stock. I'd think that the inlet and outlet sizes need to be the same as stock, and the body of the muffler should be about the same shape/dimension as the stock. Suppose the above parameters were met in a generic muffler - could it be used? TIA, Marshall Ruskin 84 Westy 1.9 litre --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
