I'm curious, is there a local "culture" in the full-service states for tipping the attendant after he/she pumps the gas? One time, when driving in Oregon, I remember the attendant just kind of standing there after I paid. Didn't occur to me until later that he may have been waiting for a tip, at least until realizing I was from California.
