Kevin; It is possibly the radiator needs cleaning or replacing. Does running the heaters prevent the overheating? Do not attempt an in car flushing. Remove the radiator and have it professionally cleaned out. The water pump could be worn out. This is harder to diagnose. Does the pulley have any play?
