Don't mean to sound cruel here, but anyone who is stupid enough to use AOL in the first place deserves what they get. AOL preys on first time computer users with their big national AD campaigns, and makes it sound like they are the ONLY way onto the web. In reality, their proprietary software clogs up, and slows down one's computer, and they frequently lose things ( such as peoples web-sites ). Often folks who use AOL will not receive e-mail from non-AOL users. Dumping AOL is also a problem. Just ask anyone who has tried to do it. They will continue to bill you, and it often takes several attempts before they stop. Experienced 'puter users will always chose some sort of ISP that has direct access to the web. AT&T, Earthlink, whatever, but NOT AOL. Everyone, This isn't a vanagon issue but since some of you are on AOL I thought you should know. AOL has lost (forever) many customer's web sites with no explaination. Personally, I lost my VW website of 5 years. I put in thousands of hours of hard work and I am outraged! Has anyone else here lost sites on AOL? If so, please e-mail me. I would like to get a group together ans seek legal action against AOL. Thanks Dave vwdude1957@aol.com |
Please note - During the past 17 years of operation, several gigabytes of
Vanagon mail messages have been archived. Searching the entire collection
will take up to five minutes to complete. Please be patient!
