One other alternative I recently saw..... At Syncro de Mayo, there was a beautiful Syncro with a camper conversion by Adventurewagon....the one with the permanent raised pop top. This van had a very nice front/overhead AC unit installed up front which was not a factory unit....installed perhaps by the Adventurewagon folks as part of the conversion. It was installed as the only unit...not spliced into a VW factory system. This type of unit would allow front air (although up high) without compromising your factory heater system and vents, loss of center radio location, and part of the glove box .....all of which were minor drawbacks to the Behr installation. Worth a bit of research to look into it. Looked like a high quality evaporator and van unit. Nice clean installation. Anyone have connections at Adventurewagon to find out who makes these units?? (Are they still in business??) Warren C. Warren C. |
