Volks, My '85 van had the dreaded van syndrome. I put in the capacitor fix and it was just as bad at first and got gradually better [honest I haven't been doing any drugs, except for fioroset]. The oil pressure light doesn't usually light except very briefly when first revving the engine after starting it. Turn the key off and the wipers still work, the heater and ac fans still work but the headlights don't [per design, I believe] The only thing that I can think of that may be related to all these things is bad grounds. Every ground on the engine was taken apart and remade during my recent install of a rebuild. I've cleaned the star ground under the dash, although about a year ago. Any ideas? Mike |
