We carry a 5 gal water container in our weekender. After every trip, or a couple of times per season, I add about a cup of bleach to two or three gallons of water and shake it thoroughly 3-4 times a day for a couple of days. Each time I sit it down after shaking, I ensure it's resting on a different side that it was previously. Then I rinse it with fresh water, then put in a couple gallons with 3-4 tbsp of baking soda and repeat the shaking process for few hours. I then rinse again and its ready to use. I've heard of folks cleaning RV tanks by adding the bleach/water mixture and throwing in a bag of crushed ice, then driving around awhile.
