> Head gasket sealant Dan, throw the sealant that came with your gasket set in the garbage NOW ! Do not use it. Use either Loctite or Permatex Ultra Copper RTV, high temperature head gasket sealant. Use this sealant on the head gasket surface that makes contact with the head. It is not necessary on the opposite surface. Use this to seal the head bolts also. I have done many and none have ever leaked again. Make sure the area where the gasket makes contact are clean, and smooth so the gasket will get sealed to it well. It's the sealant that prevents the gasket from loosing contact with the head during warm up and cool down due to the expansion/contraction of the dissimilar metals used in the head, cylinders and water jacket.
