While I agree with what BIll says, Taking the drive shaft out HELPS but does not compensate for left and right front tyres being of different diameter. VC are EXPENSIVE and your better off buying 2 NEW cheap tyres (be sure to measure the circumference as Bill suggests) for the front to get you home. If you can pull it with just the rear wheels on the ground and the front wheels FREE to rotate that is another option (ie grasp the front-end by the frame to lift the front of the van). FWIW, two 13 mm wrenches to unbolt the front drive shaft out (8 bolts), then loosen (only) the 3 big bolts on the front diff to get enough play for the drive shaft to FALL out. To keep from being hit (in the head) by the drive-shaft falling out, support it by some strong wire on the syncro skid plates as you "break" it loose. Re-tighten the front diff bolts. malcolm On 12 Jul 2002 at 7:54, Bill Davidson wrote: > > Perhaps better yet... just remove the drive line and relax... > shouldn't be a problem then.... > > 2) How do you tow a syncro? > > If you don't remove the drive line then it should be towed with all > four wheels on the ground.... or on a flatbed with all four wheels off > the ground. > > > Bill > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks, > > Chris > > > > If you would like to modify your subscription settings (including > unsubscribing), visit: > > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Syncro > > Please remember that rude or offensive language is not allowed on > > the > Syncro list.
