Don't know about Oregon but in most of NJ the petroleum distributing
engineer is either from the Asian sub-continent or parts of Asia
minor.  Same goes for the full service stations in the New York City metro
area.  It looks like a tough way to make a buck.  Outside in all sorts of
weather, constantly running back and forth dealing with the public.  also,
in the Northeast tipping is just unheard of.   People will sit there and
wait for their penny change.
