Subject: Fw: new propane fill valve - VW warranty?!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="Windows-1252"

| The man who did the work said he has replaced hundreds of Auto Stops on both | VWs and GMC camper vans. He was surprised ours lasted as long as it did. | He said they were junk and many (both brass and aluminium) were replaced | under warranty with VW. Anyone know if this service warranty would still be | in effect (HA!)?

The Auto Stop valve on my '87 Westy was replaced for the common, generic type less than a year after purchasing the van. The valve jammed open and was leaking gas into the atmosphere while being filled at a propane station. Since the two year VW warranty was still in effect, I was reimbursed later by the dealer.

It's amazing your Auto Stop valve has lasted this long.
