Subject: Preventing Seam Rust

I recently got a new van its a 1990 syncro adventurewagen. My question is... Does anyone know a good way to prevent seam rust before it happens. I got pretty lucky and found a van without the rust that has plauged my earlier vans.

I noticed some small cracks in the seams beginning to form. Would a automotive glazing compound forced into the cracks work? I don't really want to have to start sanding and painting.

Thanks! Michael Blackburn
