Mike,

I got a Shady Boy last year and am pleased with it. It was $200 US then, $300 CDN. Wolfgan will install it for you if you want to drive up to Canada. He lives in a beautiful area right across the border at Crescent Beach, BC. I like its light weight and high quality materials and construction.

The fancy units are easier to use in some respects, but costly and heavy. It can be a challenge to mount them so so they don't eventually cause stress cracking at the points where they attach to the vehicle.
