As long as the drive shaft is out, having different-sized tires right &
left on a given axle is only going to put the differential through its
paces. Maybe not the best idea for an extremely long tow, but not really
a huge deal. If paranoia is your co-pilot, just put some nice new lube
in the diff. before you go.
