When I was overhauling my front door locks, I simply pulled the fuse that supplies power to the locks... If I remember correctly it was not down on the bottom row like all the others, but up top, near the center, hanging out all alone.

Mine were corroded to hell, crumbled boots had let water in for years. I managed to completely clean them both out, readjust, and they work brilliantly now (once again).

I used a balloon for the new boot (list members suggestion) and the spring from a Mini Bic lighter to replace the one that turns to dust (my own discovery).

Before you start pulling the doors all apart, try to find the fuse. If the mechanism is not totally trashed inside, the locks can be operated manually for years... but they are prone to this leaky trashed boot scenario, and will most likely be rusted out when you open them up... either way, just pull the lock up and push it down... you cannot do any more damage than is already done.

Pmail me if you need any more specific details on overhauling the actuators... or if you would like to donate your old trashed ones to me, so I can overhaul them as spares.

Have fun!!
