Hi Dave,

Forget these tune up places, they're oriented to throwing spark plugs into cast iron V-8s. You can do the job! Note the follow:

There's a vendor on Ebay selling a 2.1L german tune up kit for $35.00. Plugs, cap, rotor and air, oil & fuel filters. You can't steal the stuff for that price.

The 2.1L doesen't have a PCV valve and the crankcase vent heater is maintenance free.

If the ign. timing was set correctly 100,000 miles ago, it is still set correctly. Basic timing doesn't change with a Digifant system. You know how it changes? The "'experts" at Precision tune feel compeld to turn the distributor because there is a bolt to loosen & tighten.

If the throttle valve brass air bypass screw has not been turned then the mA current thru the idle stabilizer valve is still correct. If you haven't had idle speed problems the this is probably OK.

If the air flow meter bypass screw has not been turned then the basic mixture is probably OK.

The Digifant system was intended to be a low maintenance system that DOES NOT need pepriodic adjustments. It does need resetting after peole who don't know Digifant start turning screw just because they can.

I would add that ALL the fuel line should be checked & replaced if not absolutely perfect. Also make sure the evaporative emission contol valve closes at idle. A click can be felt in the valve from idle to off idle. The valve is behind the air filter with vacuum lines attached.

Other than that a 2.1L tune is a snap. The Precision guys will know less about this engine management system than you now do.

Regards, John
