Subject: Westy AC question
Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Hi Folks,

I own a 1986 Wolfy Westy which has AC in the back. I have managed to rig up a simple (but crude) vent so that I can have AC up front.

I was wondering, is it possible to fit a factory AC front unit, such as the ones on GL Vanagons (white, or grey plastic hood with vents just above eye level) on my non GL and plumb AC to it so I can direct cold air to my face?

While I was on Orcas Island in WA I saw a 1987 Grey Westy GL that had the front hood/vent system and a different rear AC set up (low profile). It made me wonder, how the AC hoses were plumbed to the front to help provide AC.

Anyhow, I would like to know, can this be done & has anyone done this? I could score many of the parts used if I need....

Any information, ideas or suggestions would be a big help.

Thanks much, dave bowers Portland, Oregon 1986 Westy "G2"
