Subject: Really Need a Torque Converter and Drive Plate,
              or sailing holiday is ruined...!
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1

Hi Volks:

Can somebody help me by providing a torque converter and the associated drive plate?

As you guys may recall, I was driving along without a care in the world - when my van when, "Vroo-oom" and the wheels seemed disconnected from the engine. Left me stranded on the highway with my wife and dog - 150 KM away from home on Saturday night!.

I suspected that it was the drive plate come away from the torque converter, and turns out I was right.

The shop said that I need a new torque converter, and a new drive plate - because that one now has a bunch of grooves milled into it.

Thing is - I am going to get flat-out raped by the shop - I am in a bind - and they know it.

They're gonna hafta bring in parts from "somewhere in Western Canada". Prolly gonna charge me for time spent looking for the parts, too.

So - if somebody has a a good torque converter, and associated drive plate (I've got a 84 Westy, 1.9 litre) I would sure appreciate buying it from you. (Please be gentle with me, K?)

Of course, I will pay for it however you want - even via PayPal. If you can Fedex it overnight - fastest way possible to me, that'd be great. I'll pay for it.

I'd like to have the shop complete the work by Wednesday afternoon, so my wife and I can go on our very first sailing regatta.

You can call me collect at (204 ) 957-5626 if you can help me with this!

Thanks,

Marshall Ruskin Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada
