You're both right. The aircooled ('80-83) and 1.9 liter ('83-85) mufflers are $76 with listmember discount. The 2.1 liter ('86-91) muffler is a bit more, at $104.50. All are stock size/shape OEM replacements, made by original suppliers to VW. However, the 2.1 liter muffler that I generally ship (based on availability; presently plenty in stock) does have a stainless steel body, making it somewhat superior to the original.
