Subject: propane tank float question
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed

Hi All,

New Mexico has recently passed a law requiring floats on all propane tanks to prevent overfilling. Standard propane tanks like those used for bbq's can be adapted for ~$20 however it looks like a cumbersome process involving mounting a tank on a contraption and pulling the stem out before replacing it with a stem/float combination.

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience doing this on a Westy propane tank and what-all is involved. As it stands now, I can't get my tank filled until I get it converted. Sheesh!!!

Thanks in advance, Ivan
