Malcolm,

The best professor I ever had retired to the leisure of academia after a full career in industry. Hands down, the most adept dentist whoever stuck his hands in my mouth had been a USN dental tech for 10 years before he went to dental school. And, the only world-class surgeon I have known, had been a medic in Nam.

In light of all that, I think you missed a step. The drill is: watch one, DO ONE, teach one.

Also, anyone who smears anything, other than assembly lubricant, on an O-ring used as a pressure seal, will someday be made to stand at the Gates of Hell with an open bucket of gasoline in hand.

Richie
