We fixed the broken water jacket gasket on the right head of my 1.9L '85 van yesterday. Every thing looked good. (except for the gasket) The surface of the head and the case were clean and smooth and the head bolts were torqued correctly. Was it just a bad gasket or is it possible that the pressure in the cooling system was too high? How do you test the cap on the coolant bottle at the back of the car to make sure it is releasing pressure into the overflow bottle? Thanks for any info. George '85 Westfalia |
