Cut off the crimp bulge across the width of the clamp with a pair of end cutting nippers (premier choice) or diagonal cutters (dikes). Make sure the cutter is designed for use with steel or else be ready to live with some nicks in their cutting edges. On the numerous plastic hose barbs found on the Vanagon, do not apply any twisting force as you cut or you may end up having to do more work than you had intended.
