Partially true. Compressing air adiabatically does not mean that the
TEMPERATURE of the compressed gas will not be higher, only that there isn't
any more ENERGY introduced by the process of compressing.  If you use a hot
intake pipe, compressor and outlet, you are adding energy - heat - to the
mass of air, but even if you had no additional energy added to the air mass
in question, it's temperature would rise by the simple fact of compression -
that the same mass and energy occupy less space, it's density increased.

Of course mass and energy are but two manifestations of the same thing, but
that's a discussion for another time.
