I>is shipped as a hazardous chemical. WHAT? Soda is more expensive than >gas? Wake up, folks, think about that for a while . . . .

Gasoline in the US costs about $12 to $15 per gallon. You pay $1.50 at the pump, and the rest is taxes, tax breaks for the oil companies, cleanup, military costs to defend the persian gulf (what, you think we are there because we care about the people??) and other fees you would rather not know about. Do a little research on the net, consider the sources (of course), and you will learn that pump prices are just a smoke screen. Desert Storm cost us more than a few dollars a gallon :-)

Gasoline makes the world go 'round, and there is no real motivation for those in control to change the type of vehicles we drive, as the ripple effect through the government and the economy caused by the loss of the IC engine would be disastrous. It has nothing to do with environmentalism, economy, engineering, or anything positive. Its greed and money, plain and simple.

Do you really think it would be a good thing if someone came up with a car that ran on water, considering the world we live in?? If so, you are not paying attention to the reality of how things work.. Its fun to talk about, and its good to think about new things, but in the end, it is not ever going to happen.

Sorry, I am feeling terribly pragmatic today.....

John
