I have always said that to own a classic British car, one must be in a situation to have a live-in british car mechanic. I feel that the same is true for vanagons.

If you cannot afford a live-in mechanic, you then realize that someone who lives there already must take on the task if you want to own a vanagon. Then you just have to figure out what hat you wear today.
