Hello List , from "Old Poop" aka Don and "Sweetie" aka Carolyn Old Poop talking: 1st time to communicate with you. Been reading you when time allows. As a long time, 45 years, air cooled volks and Porsche owner, we hope to be able to share our accumulated experience when ever possible. And I always have a ??? or 2 on my mind, such as now. 1 - What is the collective experience with the Pertronix iginition module for an original owner 82 Vanagon Westfalia with over 200,000 miles on a carburated (Webber Progression) 2 liter air cooled engine? 2nd - Does anyone know for sure what the Bosch blue coil output spec is and /or does the petronix coil make a measurable difference in performance? 3 - Does anyone on the list know of a source for molybdenum disulfide Moly (MoS2) blended in a quality 30W engine oil with at least 5% by weight moly added or an additive syspension that would (now I'm guessing) contain 75% or 80% by weight? I last bought 6 gallons blended with 5% or more moly by weight from a company called Royal Moly in Crescent City IL 60928. This product was called Royal Moly Supreme. It was a premium 30W motor oil with at least 5% moly, it was specified (CF-2, CFSH) requirements. I will get into my moly stories another time but I will add this... It used to be sold by VW dealers as an additive with their logo on it and VW mechanics were calling it Sputnik oil Thanks for your help.
