Check the bleeder plug on the valve section. I had one of these fail. Nothing wrong with the core.

As you all can tell from my last 2 postings I'm in the middle of a Saturday Afternoon epic with my 1990 Carat...trying to get the cover off my rear heater and evaluate it leaking/smelling.
