I've been running one of these for about a year now. Got the best fuel economy I've had with the 80C thermostat. The engine does run at the correct temp the coolant just begins circulating earlier. Of course, it helps that I live in Texas. If you live in areas with cooler temperatures there probably isn't any advantage to running an 80C thermostat.
