> ignition buzz in speakers on 88 vanagon Joe, I just went through this. I spent a lot of time and money trying to cure this and finally got it. First I was led to believe the noise suppresser capacitor on the alternator was bad. I ordered a new one from VW for $15 and put that on. Made no difference. Buzzing still there. Then I went and bought a car radio noise suppresser from Canadian Tire, $30 more, installed that according to directions and still no relief from the buzzing. Then while futzing with the radio I notice that when the radio is not installed in the dash but plugged in and working there was no buzzing. Ha, what's this all about ? So I decide to put some electrical tape around the perimeter of the opening in the dash and around the edge of the radio to insure there is no contact between the radio and the van body. Also need to insure the rubber grommet for the rear locating pin is there also. Shoved the radio back in place and VIOLA ! no more buzzing. Not sure what the problem was/is but my solution has worked. There may be an internal diode or capacitor in the radio that has gone belly up, who knows but I got rid of the buzzing finally !

Cheers
