Subject: 90 GL Oil temp sender options?/Motor Mount Diagnostics?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii"; format=flowed

Dear Listees: Since I boogered up the 14mm to 10 mm adapter for my VDO oil temp sender(installed in place of oil drain hole) and Bus Boys etc. say they have no more adapters, what's a Mother to do? Is there another place better than the oil drain plug for this sensor(from a more accurate reading standpoint) that I'm not figuring out, or do I need to drill the case somewhere and make my own 10mmx1.00 hole and go from there? Engine is in the van ifthat should matter.

By the way, the Haltech FI system has been running flawlessly despite the goob that programmed it(and we all know who that is, don't we?). As the money comes available, I'll add the TWM twin throttle bodies and see if more air and fuel will make it run a little quicker.

As far as the motor mounts go, when I start up the engine(happens most of the time both hot and cold), the motor torques badly enough that the Stebro muffler clanks against the body somewhere. it doesn't do it during no-load reving, just during the initial starting. When the Boston Bob engine was installed, naturally I put new German motor mounts in and the front tranny mount is only 2 years old. Any ideas on how to determine if the mounts are bad back there, or is this strictly a clearance issue with the Stebro. Or is it something else I'm totally missing? Thanks in advance.
