I put Mercedes 15" rims on my '73 westy with 215/65/15R yokohama LT tires. However, there is one problem with putting alloys on vans and buses (besides making sure the offset is right) and that is the studs and/or bolts are too short. My biggest hassle was finding the right sized studs and corresponding nuts to work with the alloys.

Any suggestions ??? The local VW used auto parts yard recommended 15 Audi 5000 turbo rims which they sell for about a hundred bucks apiece.Does anyone have any opinions one the suitability of these type of rims on a 1984 Westy? Or possibly a different alternative? Also on last trip I did an odometer check on highway and came to the conclusion my speddo is reading a lot higher than it should ( 130 km"s an hour am actually only travelling at 110 km"s an hour.)While this is no big deal as its easy to do a mental conversion while driving would larger ( 15 inch wheels ) correct this inaccuracy to some degree? > Thanks in advance for any advice you may have. > Jeff in Winnipeg 1984 Westy ( loaf of rye bread)
