As far as I know, in North America the difference was Canadian vs. US law. My Canadian 83.5 did not have the dish drainer, and did have a permanently attached shore-power cord. My US spec '87 has the dish drainer, and just a connector for a power line.

I'm off to Canada tomorrow for a couple of weeks, so I'll try to look at any Westy's I spot to see if they have the electrical port on the side down low, like my '83, or in-line with the water ports, like my '87
