Subject: Vanagon Syndrome Fixed - The Van runs smoother??

Hi Folks,

I recently took the plunge to hopefully fix what may have been the Vanagon Syndrome. On the occasional trip, usually after getting the van serviced) it would buck and carry on around 100km (60 miles) into a trip. So I took the plunge and followed Harald and Nancy's instructions to fix the problem. http://www.geocities.com/harald_nancy/intermitt._syndrome.htm Thanks so much to Harald and Nancy.

Q. Is the van meant to run smoother after the fix? Or am I imagining things? There is less vibration in the engine department and a certain resonance has disappeared, Umm. Or is it bit like after you clean the engine the car seems to run better??

This last weekend we went to the snow, skiing (yep, we get the White stuff here in Australia) and van ran so well. Well, except the bit in Kosciusko National Park where I was overtaken going up a hill by the same model VW transporter with 4 people, I had 6 people and that's my excuse... Doh.

So I would welcome any comments from people whether they had the same subjective experiences as I did with the van running smoother.

Best Regards,

Chris
