I just recieved a bosch rebuilt starter that came with the bushing also. I plan on bending a coat hanger wire or similar and trying to pull the old bushing out from the backside. Or maybe lightly press fit a bolt into it ( careful so I don't damage the old bushing )and see if it will come out. If it won't come out within reason, I'll try the newer starter with the old bushing. By the way my starter came with a tag reminding me to grease the bushing... Mark I 85 GL
