I would personally recommend the full rewiring, in addition to the relays. The 100/80 watt bulbs will most probably make your thin OEM wires hot. The whole point of doing the relay/wiring thing, is to decrease the voltage drop to a minimum at the headlight lamp, and to protect the switch from melting. If you want the most light, and the best solution... do the wiring upgrade (it is NOT difficult... can be completed in an afternoon). Good Luck, RSF IMPORTANT!!!
