Subject:      WTB: Van/Bus flex plate

       Looking for the flex plate between the flywheel and torque converter 
from any year Vanagon or Bus with auto tranny.  Seems these puppies are 
almost extinct new from VW and the price is way outta sight.  I have heard 
that all VW Canada engine rebuilds that were shipped to all location in North 
America were shipped out with this flex plate regardless of the their 
destination transmission.  I would therefore presume there are a few of these 
flex plates, new, sitting around in garages or basements around the country.  
I need the five crank bolts and three torque converter bolts also if 
possible.  This is all for a customers '85 Westy that ripped it's flex plate 
out on the 401 somewhere between Kingston and Brockville on its way to Nova 
Scotia Sunday morning.  Sitting in my garage now waiting for the flex plate 
to fall out of the sky !  Any help will be appreciated by myself and Tony 
Thompson the owner.
