Subject: busted AC fitting
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"

Howdy all, I'm in a bind. My AC is out, I have a broken hose fitting. The fitting is from an '87, where the hose from the evaporator meets the compressor on the suction side. Big 1" thread nut, low pressure port, 45 degree bend, half a foot long. It cracked just above where the nut clamps down on it. I'd guess that too much vibration over the years has fatigued it to death. Everything else in the system is OK. So, does anyone out there have one of these fittings laying around? OK, didn't think that would work, so does anyone know where to get one in good condidtion? Or, can they be welded or soldered? I don't need the whole hose, just the fitting.

(BTW my AC system is from a '90, retrofitted to my '85, with a '87 compressor, adapted to the Tiico engine. Frankencooler! And it actually worked.)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
