Subject: Re: Westy Poptop Installation on a Sunroof Vanagon???
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii

The sunroof model is not ideally suited for the poptop conversion. People have done it though. The sunroof opening does not quite go far enough forward to allow normal use of the poptop release handle.

The roof of the passenger models is arched up in the center. This does not leave enough space for the complete Westy upper bed to fit. The foam pads, thin as they are, are still too thick to fit between the arched roof and the poptop.

Mr. Fish, my mail to you keeps bouncing. Post questions to the list if you need a response.

I note with great interest the install Q's on pop-top on regular vans, space required for complete bed up top....Has anyone put a pop-top on a sunroof van? Is the sunroof hole the same size as the Westy opening? Can you put a bed up top without making the opening in the roof larger than a sunroof opening?
