Replying to my own email on this. I finally did find the wiring diagram of the AC system in the Bentley (97.137-97.145). I don't have any trouble reading the diagrams in the Bentley, but I sure do seem to have trouble finding the correct diagram to read. Another lister cautioned me that trying to force the compressor clutch to engage may be an expensive exercise in compressor replacement. Point very well taken. The compressor is probably not engaging because the system doesn't have enough charge to turn on the low pressure safety switch. On to diagnose the problems charging the low pressure side of the system, methinks.
