I love my Vanagon, and want a Westfalia or Multivan. It's just that for $25K, you can get get reliable power, a newer vehicle, and some other comforts not available in yer normal, unmodified Vanagon. Of course you give up character, (probably) handling, maybe gas mileage, and the comraderie of fellow Vanagon owners.
