On the '81 engine I run in my '73 westy, I carefully cleaned off the tube and the steel stub tube it goes on to, put some blue silicone gasket goo on it for a better seal, put a bigger washer on the bolt that holds it on, and put on a hose clamp as well. It quite leaking.
