I have a small 50 watt Siemens panel I mounted on the roof of my Westy. It just barely keeps up with my 12 v cooler and my ham radio. I believe it to be prudent to not utilize the main battery for anything other than running the engine, lights, etc. I have a small deep cycle coach battery that my camping stuff uses.

Wondering whether anybody has setup a solar panel on there westy instead of hooking up a second battery - If so where did you get it - how much was it - difficult to install?
