If I had bought a Westy I would have sold the interior. The Westy isn't a useful vehicle for my daily driver. Yes, it would be nice to have all that stuff, but only a few times a year. I carry lots of lumber in my Weekender-ized GL, I deliver my furniture with it, I help friends move, I camp in it (bigger bed), I drive off-road in it, and I cart my big ol' dogs around in it. Personally, I think the most attractive thing about it is the cavernous space. That is why I hate minivans -- too much crap in them. I took the middle seat out as soon as I bought it. I like having lots of flat space to sort gear, pack up the packs, and all that kind of stuff most people do on the street. When I think about my wife and I and the dogs moving around in the van, with all that space taken up by the cabinets and sink, etc., I don't think it would work as well FOR US. For someone who is alone or for a couple, it might work out OK. I will say that a camper top would be nice once in a while, too, but that's just more stuff to take care of. So enjoy your Westies, but don't look down on the rest of us. I for one don't want one.
