Not quite true. The part numbers in the factory parts references are for the parts to be used and are often not the number of the original part. The 2 cases are different but the 1.9 case is no longer available.

Check page 13.57 of the latest Vanagon Bentley for info on replacing a 1.9 case with the 2.1 case.
