Subject:      How to Bleed Coolant System

Last fall before leaving for Mexico, I needed to bleed
my coolant system.  I'd never seen it done before.
Nor had my helper.  It worked great!.
So for any who need to do this, here's the system I used.
(Don't skimp on the time required!)
(Print instructions & keep them with your Bentley)

BLEEDING COOLANT SYSTEM

 1  Fill *primary coolant tank to top. (*not the expansion tank)

 2  Jack up front end of van 24 inches.

 3  Gently open bleeder screw @ right front of radiator.
    *Careful---!  Plastic tube may be brittle--don't break it!

 4   Next, shut bleeder screw--snugly, *not tight.

 5  Open rear heater valve (under back seat--left side of housing,
     found in circular-shaped cut out.
     *The Open valve position points toward *front of van.

 6   Open front heater vents.

 7   Start engine & idle till very warm.

 8   Run engine @ 2500-3000 rpm.

 9   Open front bleeder screw again until coolant sputters/ flows out.
      Burping & bleeding of coolant will begin & you *must continue
      running the engine (as above) for a *full 30 minutes.

10  Carefully shut bleeder screw--snugly, *not tight.

11  Let engine idle till fan shuts off & engine is *cool.

12  Once engine is cool, top off the Primary coolant tank---*careful!
      Don't remove cap of coolant tank when engine is hot--PRESSURE!

13  Repeat proceedure One More Time.
